We adhere to a strict data minimization by design philosophy. Kizmo Kids does NOT collect, request, process, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from children or parents.

  • No User Account: No registration, social sign-in, username, password, email verification, or phone number verification is requested or required.
  • No Real Names or Contact Data: Profiles created within the app only allow local nicknames (e.g., "Leo" or "Maya") and pre-illustrated cartoon avatars.
  • No Geolocation Data: The app does not request, access, or track coarse or fine GPS location.
  • No Biometric Data: The app does not collect facial recognition, fingerprint data, voiceprints, or any biological data.
  • No Camera or Microphone Access: The app does not request or possess device permissions to record audio or take photos.

3. Local-First On-Device Storage Architecture

All educational progress and creative work remain completely private to your family. Kizmo Kids operates on a local-first architecture:

How Your Child's Data Stays Private: All educational tracking (such as completed alphabet letters, math problem scores, unlocked stickers, and drawings created in Creativity Studio) is saved locally on the device in private, sandboxed app storage via AsyncStorage. We do not operate a remote user database, analytics backend, or cloud database.
  • Child Profiles: Stored locally. Parents can create, edit, or delete child nicknames and avatar choices directly in the Parent Area.
  • Learning Milestones: Tracing progress, quiz stars, and lesson completions are saved on the phone or tablet.
  • Art & Drawings: Canvas drawings and coloring pages created by your child stay entirely within the app's local memory cache. They are never uploaded or shared.

4. 100% Ad-Free Experience & Zero Advertising SDKs

We believe young children deserve an undisturbed, safe, and joyful space to learn and explore. Kizmo Kids is 100% ad-free across all games, activities, and menus:

Both free and premium experiences remain completely free of commercial advertisements for all families.

5. Parental Controls & Adult Mental Math Gate

To safeguard children from unintended actions, Kizmo Kids features an adult verification barrier:

  • Protected Parent Area: All adult configuration screens—including screen time reminders, sound toggles, data reset, and optional subscription management—are locked behind a dynamic mental math equation (e.g., "What is 14 × 3?").
  • Anti-Brute Force Protection: Repeated incorrect attempts temporarily lock access for 30 seconds to prevent randomized guessing by little fingers.
  • No In-App Purchases by Children: Store purchases can only be initiated from inside the parent-gated area.

6. In-App Purchases & Google Play Billing

Kizmo Kids offers an optional family subscription (Kizmo Kids Premium):

  • All financial transactions are handled exclusively and securely by Google Play Billing.
  • We never receive, process, or store credit card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses.
  • The app only receives anonymous validation tokens from Google Play confirming active subscription entitlements.
  • Subscriptions can be managed or canceled at any time by the parent through the Google Play Store app under Payments & Subscriptions.

7. Device Permissions Audit

In accordance with Google Play store transparency requirements, here is the full list of permissions declared in app.json / AndroidManifest.xml:
