1. Architecture & On-Device Storage Model

The Grand Athlete is built on a private on-device storage architecture. Unlike conventional fitness applications:

• No Mandatory Account: You do not need to provide an email address, create a password, or link third-party social media accounts to use the application.
• Local Database / Key-Value Store: Your athletic profiles, workout sets, reps, weights, calorie and water logs, streak records, and achievements are stored directly in your smartphone's internal sandboxed application storage.
• Zero Remote Cloud Sync of Biometrics: We do not transmit your body measurements, workout history, or nutrition logs to proprietary external backend servers.

2. Network Connection Requirement

An active internet connection is required to run The Grand Athlete application. Network connectivity is utilized strictly for the following functions:

• Exercise Video Demonstrations: Streaming high-definition exercise technique guides and movement tutorials embedded via the official YouTube player in conformity with the YouTube Terms of Service.
• Google AdMob Monetization: Serving banner, app-open, and optional rewarded advertisements delivered by the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
• App Updates & Version Checks: Verifying Google Play Store version status for critical security and compatibility patches.

4. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases & Google Play Billing

The Grand Athlete offers optional premium features ("The Grand Athlete Pro") via auto-renewing subscriptions (Monthly, 3-Month, 6-Month, and Yearly plans):

• 100% Google Play Billing: All financial transactions, recurring billing, and payment processing are handled exclusively through Google Play In-App Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING). We never collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers, bank accounts, or billing addresses.
• Entitlement Verification & Purchase History: When you purchase Pro, the app receives a secure, cryptographically signed purchase token and order identifier from Google Play to grant you instant access to premium features (including complete ad elimination, advanced analytics, and custom routines). This token is stored locally in sandboxed storage on your device.
• Auto-Renewal Terms: All subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle. Your Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the conclusion of the active period.
• Cancellation & Management: You can manage, modify, or cancel your active subscriptions at any time through your Google Play Store Account Settings by navigating to Google Play Store → Profile Icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling ensures no future renewals will occur; you retain Pro benefits through the remainder of your pre-paid term.
• Restore Purchases: If you reinstall the app or change devices, your active subscriptions can be instantly restored at zero additional cost by tapping "Restore Purchases" in the in-app Upgrade to Pro screen.

5. Google AdMob, GDPR & User Messaging Platform (UMP)

To keep core workout planning and exercise databases accessible for free, The Grand Athlete displays non-intrusive advertisements supported by Google AdMob.

Compliance with Google EU User Consent Policy & GDPR:

• For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom (UK), our application integrates the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK.
• Users are presented with a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) dialog upon first launch to make informed choices regarding personalized vs. non-personalized advertisements.
• Right to Revoke or Change Consent: In full compliance with Google and GDPR policies, you can review, modify, or revoke your consent choices at any time directly within the app by navigating to Settings → Privacy & Data Sovereignty → "Review GDPR Ad Consent Choices".

6. Camera, Photos & AI Food & Macro Scanner Permissions

The Grand Athlete includes an optional AI Food & Macro Scanner designed to help athletes effortlessly log meals and calculate estimated nutritional intake (calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fats).

To enable this functionality, the application may request the following system permissions on your mobile device:

• Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Requested only when you tap the camera icon to photograph a meal plate or food item in real time.
• Read Media Images / Storage Permission (android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Requested only when you choose to select an existing food image from your device's photo gallery.

Voluntary Consent & Revocation: Granting camera and photo access is completely voluntary. You can use all core workout, exercise, and hydration features of the application without granting camera or media permissions. You can review or revoke camera and photo library permissions at any time through your Android system settings under Settings → Apps → The Grand Athlete → Permissions.

7. YouTube API Services & Third-Party Video Streaming

The Grand Athlete incorporates YouTube API Services and the official YouTube embedded player to provide athletes with structured follow-along workouts, exercise technique demonstrations, and healthy recipe tutorials.

In accordance with Section 5 of the YouTube API Terms of Service:

• By accessing, streaming, or viewing video content within The Grand Athlete, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).
• When you stream video content, YouTube and Google may collect and process information about your device, IP address, playback activity, and cookies pursuant to the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
• No Content Modification or Unauthorized Storage: The Grand Athlete streams videos directly through the official YouTube embed interface. We do not download, store offline, re-host, sell, or modify video or audio streams.
• Intellectual Property & Creator Rights: All trademarks, copyrights, channel identities, musical scores, and audiovisual assets displayed in workout and recipe videos remain the exclusive property of their respective creators and YouTube channels (e.g. Pamela Reif, Chloe Ting, Mady Morrison, Tom Merrick, POPSUGAR Fitness, Well+Good, and culinary partners).

8. Health Connect & On-Device Sensors

If you choose to enable Health Connect synchronization:

• The app requests read-only permissions for daily step counts and active calories solely to display local performance rings on your home dashboard.
• Zero Health Connect or sensor measurements are ever transferred to advertising networks, data brokers, or external analytics partners.
• You may revoke Health Connect permissions at any time through your Android system settings.

9. Data Retention, Portability & Deletion Rights

Because your fitness data is stored on-device, you have absolute ownership and control over your records:

• Export Your History: You can export your complete workout logs, body metrics, meal plans, and streak history at any time as a portable JSON document via Settings → Data Management & Backup → Export Backup.
• Selective Cleanup: You can selectively delete specific categories of data (e.g. video watch cache, hydration history) without losing your workout templates.
• Permanent Deletion / Clean Slate: You can irrevocably wipe all local data and reset the application at any time using the "Clean Slate / Reset All" button in Settings, or by clearing app storage in Android settings / uninstalling the app.
• Advertising ID Deletion / Reset: You can reset or delete your Google Advertising ID (GAID) at any time through your Android device settings under Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID".

10. Children's Privacy

The Grand Athlete is intended for general audiences aged 13 and older (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly target or collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

11. Medical & Health Disclaimer

The workouts, recovery routines, nutrition guidelines, BMR/TDEE calculations, and readiness scores generated in this application are for general educational, wellness, and fitness purposes only. They do NOT constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare provider before beginning any new exercise or dietary regimen, especially if you have pre-existing cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, or metabolic conditions.

12. Regional Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA & India DPDP)

Depending on your location, you may have specific statutory rights concerning your personal information:

• European Economic Area (EEA) & UK (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, port, or erase your data, and to restrict or object to certain processing. Because The Grand Athlete operates on a local-first on-device architecture, you can exercise your access and portability rights at any time via Settings → Export Backup (JSON), and your right to erasure via Settings → Clean Slate / Reset All Data. You can modify your ad consent choices at any time in the app settings under Settings → Privacy & Data Sovereignty → "Review GDPR Ad Consent Choices".
• California & US State Privacy Laws (CCPA / CPRA): We do not "sell" or "share" personal information or biometric data for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral profiling.
• India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act - DPDP): Personal data processing complies with applicable provisions of the DPDP Act and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Data principals retain full rights to review and request erasure of their information.
